Simon Gill

Simon is a professional sports photographer specialising in cycling and football, whose work has appeared in many of the country’s leading magazines and newspapers including The Times, The Guardian, When Saturday Comes and Rouleur.

He has covered all three of cycling’s grand tours – the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España – as well as most of the major one-day Classics. Many of the photographs that grace the walls of Church Farm Cafe were taken by Simon on assignment at the world’s biggest races. He also took the portrait of former Watford, Aston Villa and England manager Graham Taylor for the jacket of Graham’s autobiography, which was published in 2017.

In 2023, Simon co-created an award-winning podcast series for The Cycling Podcast which combined his two childhood sporting passions, cycling and football. The Tour d’Écosse documented his bike ride to each of the 42 Scottish Football League grounds and won its category at the Sports Podcast Awards.
